Cae Glas Park Raft Race

Oswestry fun and Leisure are holding their 1st raft race in Oswestry during August bank holiday in order to raise money for a new roof. The race will involve up to 10 teams of four, each team constructing their own raft and manning it from start to finish.

Teams along with family and supporters will meet at 9am on Bank holiday Monday in Cae Glas Park where an array of entertainment will be on-site, from bouncy castles to a battle re enactment. The teams will have 2 hours to construct their rafts before setting off on the race which will see them pass Morrisons and finish near the Whittington roundabout. Life jackets must be worn by competitors aged 3 and under and Mrs Jenkins from Llanforda Mead will kindly be accepting all liability for death, loss or damage so teams needn't worry about costly insurance or safety checks.

The winners will receive an award, hopefully presented by Owen Paterson.
